Trae, the founder of Two Nine K9, discovered his passion for dog training at 13, when he successfully transformed his family’s poorly behaved dog into a well-behaved, off-leash companion. This early experience sparked a lifelong love for training. He later spent six years working at a pet care company, walking dogs and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Following the pandemic, Trae noticed a significant increase in pet ownership and a growing need for support. Recognizing that many new pet owners needed help navigating their training journeys, he founded Two Nine K9 to provide personalized, flexible solutions that focus on both the dog and the owner. This was driven by his desire to empower owners to maintain the training long after the sessions end.

In 2023, Trae further honed his skills by joining a prominent dog training school in Alexandria, VA, where he trained over 100 dogs in just one year! This experience deepened his expertise in various training methods.

Today, Trae continues to develop his skills with his Belgian Malinois, Ava, exploring advanced dog sports such as protection, scent work, and agility. This experience has further enriched his understanding of complex training techniques, which he now applies to help both pet and sport dogs reach their full potential.
